In 2001, he moved to Brussels, working as\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">a national expert in the World Trade Organisation Dispute Settlement Unit of the Directorate General\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">for Trade in the European Commission. In 2004, he joined the Permanent Representation of France to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">the European Union, as Counsellor in charge of fisheries, regional policy, outermost regions, overseas\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">countries and territories and maritime affairs. In this capacity he chaired the working parties on these\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">matters under the French Presidency of the European Union in 2008.<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 2009, he returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris, where he served as Deputy Assistant\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Secretary for food security and economic development. He was promoted Principal Deputy Assistant\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Secretary for Global Public Goods in 2011 and then for Development and Global Public Goods in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">2013. During these years in the Headquarters, he was in charge of the preparation of the Ministerial\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Conference of the 6th World Water Forum in Marseille in 2012 and led the French Delegation to the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Development Working Group of the G20.<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sujiro Seam was appointed Consul General of France in Houston on 17 June 2013.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">He holds a diploma from the Paris Graduate School of Management (\u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure de Commerce\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">de Paris, class of 1993), and also studied in the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Institut d&#8217;\u00e9tudes\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">politiques de Paris, 1993\/1994) and in the National School of Administration (\u00c9cole Nationale\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">d&#8217;administration, class of 1998).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sujiro Seam joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998.
