He graduated from the University of Rome \u201cLa Sapienza\u201d in\u00a01993 with a degree in Political Science.\u00a0He joined the Italian Foreign Service in 1995. His first assignment was at the Directorate General for\u00a0Political Affairs.\u00a0He began serving on foreign postings at the Embassy of Italy in New\u00a0Delhi,\u00a0India, from 1998 to 2002,\u00a0as First Secretary for Consular and Press Affairs. While in India he obtained a post-graduate degree\u00a0in Human Rights &amp; International Humanitarian Law &amp; Refugee Law from the \u201cIndian\u00a0Academy of\u00a0International Law and Diplomacy\u201d of New\u00a0Delhi.\u00a0From 2002 to 2006 he was First Secretary for Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of Italy\u00a0in Ottawa,\u00a0Canada. Then he returned to Rome at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate General for\u00a0Development Aid, where he held the positions of Chief of Staff, Head of Unit for scolarships then Head of\u00a0Unit for bilateral Aid to Sub Saharan Africa.\u00a0He was appointed Consul General of Italy in Houston on July 15, 2010.\u00a0Fabrizio Nava is fluent in English, French and Spanish, and has a good knowledge of German.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Counselor Fabrizio Nava was born 1969.
